Hi,

If you run our_euchre with seed 34934 you'll see this setup:

The top card on the kitty is: AD
Computer (CMA) Player 3 (AC,JH,10C,KD,9C) > Player 3 passes
Computer (CMA) Player 4 (10D,AH,QC,KH,9D) > Player 4 passes
Computer (CMA) Player 1 (JC,KC,QH,10H,10S) > Player 1 passes
Computer (CMA) Player 2 (9S,JS,QS,AS,KS) > Player 2 passes
Everybody passed, so bid for a suit.
Computer (CMA) Player 3 (AC,JH,10C,KD,9C) > Player 3 passes
Computer (CMA) Player 4 (10D,AH,QC,KH,9D) > Player 4 passes
Computer (CMA) Player 1 (JC,KC,QH,10H,10S) > Player 1 passes
Computer (CMA) Player 2 (9S,JS,QS,AS,KS) > Player 2 called S trump and
is going alone.

Why does player 2 go alone?

The last condition for going alone is "right bower, at least 3 trump,
and double suited".
Does this mean double OR single suited (since single is arguably even
better)? Because that would explain player 2's choice.

Thanks!

Your assumption is correct. Double-suited should be read "two or fewer
suits".
